There has been a lot of talk in the news, recently, about the move to more natural and renewable energy sources. With fossil fuels and other consumables running dangerously low it is really only a matter of time before the Earth is bone dry, and if we don’t have alternative energy sources by that point we will be forced to make that change or suffer the consequences. However, what do they mean when they say “renewable energy” and how can it be any better than what we already have?

Renewable energy, sometimes even called green energy, refers to energy that can be used and obtained with minimal destruction to the natural world. If you get your energy through places like www.streamenergy.net then you probably already know what we’re talking about, but if not, we’re talking hydropower, wind power, geothermal power and even solar power. These are all valid forms of renewable and natural energy that can be harnessed for application without detrimental effects to the environment.

While these forms of energy may seem like an expensive investment, both in money and the requirement for change in our daily lives, the benefits they produce are astronomical. No pollution byproducts and no further destruction to the environment are all tremendous benefits but perhaps the greatest benefit of all is that we can have our cake and eat it too – we can have the energy we need WITHOUT having to destroy the planet.

The earth is in danger of running out of energy but there is a way for everyone to help preserve the energy that we have. Renewable energy is a new alternative to saving resources, time, and money. These energy resources are natural and can be used over and over again. It is a proven fact that the earth produces and uses a lot of coal, heat, and natural gas. These resources are needed to maintain balance in the earth.

The types of energy sources that can be reused are Solar, Wind, Biomass, Ocean, Hydropower and Geothermal. For instance, the sun is the most used and needed resource on the earth. People, animals and plants depends on sunlight for good health and cell regeneration. The same can be said for water. Every living creature depends on water consumption for longevity and well being. Without water life on earth would cease to exist.

This is why the earth must not lose it natural resources, and why everyone must do their part in helping to save the earth’s resources, and find ways to replenish the resources once they have been used. Being wasteful hurts everyone and benefits no one. The survival of the environment depends on how well everyone works together to educate others and preserve the earth.

There is no better way to help save the planet earth than to use renewable energy. A renewable energy source is simply any energy that is from a source that is natural and is not reduced in supply by using it. Or if it is reduced in supply, the supply can be replenished. In addition, a renewable energy sources is not harmful to the environment as it is part of the ecosystem that we live in. Most of the energy used today comes from natural resources that are limited in supply. The full explanation can be found at http://environmenteng.wordpress.com/2011/10/25/vermont-eyes-90-renewable-energy-use-by-2050/ Once they are gone, the energy is gone. But to make matters worse, resources such as gas, oil, and coal are not a part of our ecosystem and pollute our environment.

Carbon dioxide emissions from oil alone is creating a green house affect which in turn is warming the planet. Using oil, gas, and coal products releases carbon dioxide that at one time was trapped beneath the ground. Using a renewable resource such as wood will release carbon dioxide also, but it is carbon dioxide that came from the tree that had gathered this carbon during its lifetime. The carbon released from the burning of wood is a natural part of the Earth’s carbon cycle. Trees can be planted to replace the ones that were consumed and they will absorb carbon from the air.

The modern world we live in today is one filled with wonder and excitement. Scientific breakthroughs occur daily. One of the most exciting breakthroughs recently has been the push toward using renewable energy instead of the older forms, such as coal, to generate power. Renewable energy comes in many forms. There are acres and acres of winds farms, as well as fields filled with solar panels. What is their benefit to the environment? There are many benefits. Here is a quick rundown of 2 of them

Renewable:
This is probably the chief benefit for this form of power production. While other forms of production require using a fuel and then extracting more fuel at the cost to the earth. Renewable energy since it is such things as wind and solar rays are in essence unlimited in supply. And unlike the older forms does not require to do such practices as strip mining or to cause pollution problems.

Ease of use:
Take a look at a coal factory. You will notice hundreds of people are needed for it to run correctly. This is taxing upon the environment. The pollution caused by the need of having so many individuals and their cars is very detrimental to the environment. Since renewable energy tends to be a more passive form of energy capture there is less need for all the additional workers and machinery.

Everyone has heard the hype of “Go Green”, whether from commercials about renewable energy, environmentally friendly cleaning products to simply recycling. Even so, some may ask what the benefits to going green can really mean to them and to the environment. Is it such a big deal? The answer is yes, it is a big deal.

When it comes to renewable energy sources, there are so many environmental benefits that it is difficult to list them all. Not only are there direct benefits, but those direct benefits in turn provide other benefits elsewhere. One of the most notable benefits of renewable energy is the lack of global warming gas emissions, like carbon dioxide. Reducing the risk of global warming is a very real goal of many to help keep our impact on our planet to a minimum.

Not only do renewable energy sources eliminate our carbon footprint by drastically lowering the amount of carbon dioxide released into our atmosphere, but they also greatly reduce the release of other poisonous gasses like nitrogen oxide and sulfur dioxide. Because these threats are gasses and are invisible to the eye, they are often overlooked when taking into consideration the benefits of renewable energy sources.
